Spiral4... has just completed the latest in the series of Valuing Home Delivery Reviews.

The 2014 Review, produced for IMRG and Blackbay, concludes that the avoided cost of failed 1st time / on time home deliveries has fallen by approaching 50% since the last review in 2012. This improvement is largely driven by delivery innovations using 'in transit' scheduling data that allows consumers to anticipate delivery and interact with the retailer and delivery company to engineer a successful 1st time delivery.

However at £3/4 billion (including Marketplace volumes) this is still a significant number so the pace of innovation cannot let up.
